What causes lameness in pets?
Lameness is the term used when a pet is limping or unable to place any weight on a limb. The issue could be as simple as a paw that is cut or has a foreign object imbedded in it, or as complex as an orthopedic injury. Other reasons for lameness include fracture, luxating patella, hip or elbow dysplasia, osteoarthritis, degenerative myelopathy, infection, and certain tumors or cancer.
